This project is about raising awareness about young people living with a hidden, chronic, disabling illnesses and building resilience and community.
Through music and storytelling, I want to highlight the issues faced such as mental health, isolation, being forgotten about by friends, being misunderstood or not believed.
BUILDING ON CURRENT WORK
I have created an album with my sister that speaks to the struggles we have had in facing my chronic illness and resulting disability. The full album is being released in January 2025. We will then be going on tour in April 2025.
EXAMPLES OF THE MUSIC
'Straight To Heart' speaks about the pain and lonliness I felt when I was forgotten about by friends, when I became chronically ill and was bed-ridden for two years.
After the two years of isolation 'Come On Outside' is about the first steps I took back into the world, with my younger sister's support and encouragement.
Working closely with Wasserman, our booking agent, we have designed a small UK tour that will allow me to test my physical and emotional capabilities.
This is also in partnership with Live Nation.

NB: We also have a festival date in Sheffield booked that sits within our tour. We also have an additional date in London, where the venue is on hold so we can respond to demand.

OLIVIA TATE DESIGN
Olivia Tate is an illustrator that has experience in working with and empowering diverse communities through her art.
Olivia will be commissioned to create the artwork for the anime-style book LEARN MORE....
DISABILITY ADVOCACY
We will deepen partnerships with existing organsations who do work with young people that intersects with disability and mental health. We will seek to reach their audiences with our project and look for shared goals.
